Die Urban Research Group ist eine feste Gruppe von PostDocs und Doktoranden, die selbst gesetzte Themen der Metropolenforschung beforschen - derzeit die Urban Commons. Im September 2013 wird diesbezüglich ein Symposium durchgeführt. Interessenten an der Urban Research Group können sich bis Mitte März 2013 und wieder ab Anfang Oktober 2013 melden.
Die Graduate Studies Group des Georg Simmel Zentrums ist ein selbständig organisierter und offener Zusammenschluss von DoktorandInnen, deren Dissertationen einen thematischen Bezug zur Großstadt- bzw. Metropolenforschung aufweisen.
Ziel dieser interdisziplinären Arbeitsgruppe ist die Einbindung der Promovierenden in die wissenschaftliche Landschaft, durch eigene Ideen- und Projektentwicklungen und durch einen fachlichen Austausch.
Die Graduate Studies Group existiert seit 2008 und erfährt 2013 voraussichtlich einen Neuanfang, da die bisherigen Mitglieder Ihre Dissertationen nach und nach abschließen. Der nächste Termin wird auf dieser Homepage bekannt gegeben.

About Us
Since 2013 the efforts of the the promotion of young researchers at the Georg Simmel Centre for Metropolitan Studies consists of two research groups: The Graduates Studies Group and the newly founded Urban Research Group.
The Urban Research Group is a fixed research group constisting of PostDoc and Doctoral Students that do research on selfdirected focuses in metropolitan studies - at this point Urban Commons. In September of 2013 a symposium on this specific topic will be held. Interested researchers can join the Urban Research Group up to mid march and than again from october 2013 on.
The Graduates Studies Group of Georg Simmel Centre is an autonomously organized and open group of PhD Candidates whos dissertations are connected to urban and metropolitan research.
The aim of this interdiciplinary working group is to connect the candidates to the world of research. This is achieved through the development of own ideas and projects as well as through academic exchange.
The Graduates Studies Group exists since 2008 and will be restarted in 2013 since its initial members finish their dissertations step by step.The next meeting will be announced on this website.
